Hard Work on Soft Skills: Creating a Culture of Work
Public/Private Ventures is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the effectiveness of social policies, programs and community initiatives. Focusing on training an effective workforce, Hard Work on Soft Skills offers workforce development professionals a firsthand look at how some practitioners cultivate "soft skills" to create a culture of work among their trainees. The toolkit includes two 30-minute videos that showcase four workforce development programs in 15-minute vignettes. Each documents successful training techniques and strategies that simulate actual office environments to teach "soft skills" such as appropriate comportment along with "hard skills" such as software literacy.
